History of the Utah Green Party Split
I really, really hate to keep going back to what happened in 2004 in the Green Party of Utah, but it keeps come up in other mediums and gets more and more distorted everytime I see it. False information has come up repeatedly on the GDI listserve, Counterpunch, and other places and so I want a place for information to refer back to what happened as I saw it.
I will try to be as objective as I can, and when I can't I'll try to show why I'm taking a particular view or side. Hopefully this will give some folks a more complete picture of what happened and why. At the very least it will serve as a public record to counter the outrageous claims I've seen lately.
This is going to be a long process. I'm not the fastest writer and there's a lot of information to cover. I'm limited to where I can put information on LiveJournal, so for now, I'll post this history in installments as comments to this post (see the "read #" button at the bottom of the post). I may change that later. Once it's complete I'll find some way of having a link to the history linked to my front page.
